[MUSAI] ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Korean localization, “We are ready to amaze Korean fans”

The Korean office of CD PROJEKT RED has been interviewed recently and mentioned about the story behind ‘Cyberpunk 2077’, the most anticipated title of this year. Their attempts to be close to the Korean fans are not new since they have communicated with gamers in various ways by SNS channels, forums, and events constantly, but it was the first time to unveil the story of the CDPR Korean team.

The article released last Friday included the story of the CDPR Korean team and how they are dedicating to the successful launching of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ in Korea. They highlighted the philosophy of CDPR which is ‘the gamer is on the top priority all the time’ and that is the reason the local offices over the world exist. They listen to the Korean gamers through various channels and try to reflect their opinion and Korean components on the game.

For the questions about localization, the CDPR Korea mentioned the collaboration with Musai Studio and the effort to provide the most immersive play for the Korean fans. They explained the localization of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ was clearly not a simple project – not only because of the massive volume of the story, but because of the tons of proper names from the Cyberpunk world and the unique tone and mood itself. Especially, the slangs and profanities are almost newly created through the combination of the vocabs from the Cyberpunk world and the Korean swearing so the users would be stunned while playing, they said.
